The "1000 Blossoms Wildflower Honey", "Award-Winning Creamed Honey" and infused creamed honeys the Lees pack in Creston are natural honey under HTS 0409.00.00, which has carried a 50% US duty under Section 338 since August 22, 2026. Roughly 63 per cent of Canada's honey exports go to the United States, and Jeff Lee, who sits on the Canadian Honey Council, said during an earlier round of cross-border tariffs that Canadian producers would have to absorb the duty themselves or ask American buyers to pay it. The farm has posted nothing about the 2026 duty on its own site. · content.govdelivery.com, Aug 22, 2026

Natural honey is HTS 0409.00.00 on the CBP Section 338 list and honey wine is a fermented beverage under HTS 2206.00.90, both carrying a 50% additional duty since August 22, 2026, so a jar of Beauharnois honey or a bottle of Miel Nature mead bought by an American now costs half again as much at the border. The meadery, whose meads took 17 medals at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition in Rochester, New York in 2016, has not said publicly what the duty has done to its orders, and we have not found a statement of how much it sells south of the border. · content.govdelivery.com, Aug 22, 2026
