Alisha Nicholson paints Christian-themed originals in Fredericton — Lamb of God, charcoal and acrylic on a 9 x 12 inch canvas, is available on request, while Chain-Breaker at CA$2,500 and most of the earlier pieces have already sold — and sells fine art prints of them from CA$80, “made to order on premium archival paper”, alongside commissions and a CA$20 PDF devotional paired with her paintings.

Paintings executed entirely by hand are HTS 9701.91.00 and printed pictures are HTS 4911.91.40, both on the CBP Section 338 list at a 50% duty in effect since August 22, 2026 — and roughly 90% of Nicholson’s recent sales were American. CTV News reported on August 26, 2026 that she has stopped selling paintings across the border and gone looking for an American printer so her prints do not have to; her site now tells US buyers “US prints are made & shipped inside the USA”, which leaves the originals, and the local printer she used, on the Canadian side.

She paints every piece herself in a Fredericton studio: “Every painting begins with Him. My inspiration comes through prayer, reading Scripture, sermons, conversations about faith, and sometimes quiet moments where He places an image so clearly on my heart that I simply have to paint it”, and the originals are “Original paintings, each signed by the artist.”

Her second line is reproductions, not original prints: “Fine art prints of Alisha’s original paintings, made to order on premium archival paper.” Printed pictures of that kind are HTS 4911.91.40 on the CBP Section 338 list when they cross the border, which is why she moved US print production stateside — “US prints are made & shipped inside the USA.”
