Boiling Oar is a small-batch craft brewery in southeast Calgary making approachable beers: a year-round Kolsch, Citra Blonde, Hazy Pale and Oatmeal Stout, a Lager for football season, and seasonal releases such as a Copper Ale and a West Coast-style IPA #3 hopped partly with Alberta hops.
Boiling Oar's packaged beer (HTS 2203.00.00, "Beer made from malt") can no longer ship to the US: the US import ban on listed Canadian alcohol took effect September 29, 2026, after a 50% Section 338 duty that applied from August 22, 2026. Brewed at its own facility at 7930 51st Street S.E., Calgary, where it opened a taproom in 2024; the brewery says "our beer is crafted with the highest quality malt and we even source some of our hops from Southeastern Alberta."
