Cassy Ladner paints wildlife and nature in acrylic and mixed media from a home studio in Ottawa: originals on 1.5-inch gallery-wrapped canvas from a $200 14-inch round up to $975 for a 24-by-36, smaller originals on paper from $45, and made-to-order paper prints of her own paintings at about $50, with pieces also hanging at Art House Ottawa, Zola's and Art Apothecary in Gananoque.

Cassy Ladner's hand-painted acrylic and mixed-media originals fall under HTS 9701.91.00 and the paper prints she makes of them under 4911.91.40, both on the CBP Section 338 list carrying a 50% duty since August 22, 2026. Her shop sells prints into the United States and arranges shipping for American buyers of originals on request. On August 25, 2026 she posted a reel about what the new duty does to that trade and asked people to help Canadian art get seen.

Three days after the duty took effect she posted a reel headed "50% WHAT??!!" explaining what it costs to send a painting across the border.
