A science-minded Victoria brewery founded by microbiologist Michael Kuzyk, brewing Northwest and Belgian-inspired ales such as a harvest Fresh Hop West Coast IPA, Gravity Wave coconut porter, a Bavarian-style Helles and arcānum wild bière de garde, plus its Breakthru IPA, pilsner and sour, which are enzyme-treated and lab-tested for gluten before packaging.
Category 12's packaged beer (HTS 2203.00.00, "Beer made from malt") can no longer ship to the US: the US import ban on listed Canadian alcohol took effect September 29, 2026, after a 50% Section 338 duty that applied from August 22, 2026.
