Clos Saragnat is the organic orchard on the slopes of Mont Pinacle where Christian Barthomeuf, who made the first ice cider in 1989, and Louise Dupuis made vintage ice ciders such as Avalanche and L'original, a Solera blend of every ice cider vintage since 2011, the bitter aperitif cider L'amer and farmhouse sparkling ciders on the lees, plus a small amount of straw wine and a Muscat sweet wine. A new family team took over in July 2025 and keeps making the same range.
Clos Saragnat's packaged ice ciders and farmhouse ciders (HTS 2206.00.15, "Cider, fermented, whether still or sparkling") can no longer ship to the US: the US import ban on listed Canadian alcohol took effect September 29, 2026, after a 50% Section 338 duty from August 22, 2026. We have not found a public source on whether the cidery sold in the US; its site lists stockists in Quebec.Source: whitehouse.gov, Sep 8, 2026

Everything comes from the orchard at "100, Chemin de Richford Frelighsburg (Québec) J0J 1C0", which the site describes as "l'emplacement d'un des plus vieux verger du Québec qui étend ses 35 ha à 220 mètres d'altitude sur les flancs ensoleillés du Mont Pinacle"; the ice ciders are "Élaborés exclusivement avec des pommes gelées naturellement", and the products have been organic under Québec Vrai since 2011.
