A main-street brewery in Kincardine with four year-round beers, among them Checkmate lager, Dawn of Civilization wheat beer and Mission to Mars pale ale, plus rotating cans such as Skylab Mutiny NE IPA, Double Take light lager and the Escape to the Stars blueberry blackberry sour, and a small weekly test batch released on Thursdays.
Grey Matter's packaged beer (HTS 2203.00.00, "Beer made from malt") can no longer ship to the US: the US import ban on listed Canadian alcohol took effect September 29, 2026, after a 50% Section 338 duty from August 22, 2026. Brewed on site at "726 Queen Street, Kincardine Ontario N2Z 1Z8". Owners Meag Durkin and Michael Hueftlein, both Niagara College brewing graduates, "began a major 16-month renovation of a main street storefront and installed their own brewery" in 2017 and have served their own beer there since April 2018.
