Dale and Kim Wright keep bees on the family farm on Concession Road 2 outside Harrow and sell the crop from a weekend farm store: "fresh unpasteurized honey, coming in many flavors", along with wax, hive supplies and equipment for local bee hobbyists and a shelf of Thentix and Soap Chef skincare, with jars also stocked in about fifteen shops, markets, clinics and other local businesses, most of them in Essex County and Windsor and one as far as London.

Natural honey is HTS 0409.00.00 on the CBP Section 338 list, carrying a 50% additional duty since August 22, 2026. Hawksview sells at the farm gate and through Essex County shops rather than across the border, and Dale Wright's worry, as he told CBC on August 18, 2026, is the second-hand hit: with Prairie honey shut out of the American market, he expects cheap western honey to land in Ontario and undercut small producers like him.
