Bret Williams makes lighting in small batches — the Gwen table and floor lamps on hand-turned Canadian maple and walnut bases with linen shades, plus the Maeve sconce, the Estelle pendant and the Liese chandelier.
Electric table, desk, bedside and floor-standing lamps not made of base metal (HTS 9405.29.80) go to a 50% US duty on September 15, 2026 under the September expansion of the Section 338 list, which covers Huey's hand-turned maple and walnut Gwen table and floor lamps.Source: whitehouse.gov, Sep 9, 2026
Made in Canada
The studio is in the Town of the Blue Mountains, Ontario, and the site says "Every Huey piece begins here, shaped slowly by hand in our Canadian studio".
On the tariff list
- HTS 9405.29.80 · Electric table, desk, bedside or floor-standing lamps, not made of base metal, not designed for use solely with LED light sources · 50% since Sep 15, 2026
The "Gwen Table Lamp" is "Handturned Canadian maple and linen shade" with "One medium E12 light socket" at "60 watt max @ 120 volts", and the "Gwen Floor Lamp" is a "Handturned Canadian walnut base with linen shade" with "One medium E26 light socket": wood, not base metal, and taking standard bulbs rather than only LED, which is what HTS 9405.29.80 names.
