Val-d'Or's first microbrewery, open since 2014, with five year-round beers (Blonde, Blanche, Rousse, Noire oatmeal stout and the Tête de Pioche IPA), seasonal taps, and a cellar of barrel-aged and mixed-fermentation saisons and stouts in 750 ml bottles, alongside a pub-gastronomy kitchen and a general store.
Le Prospecteur's packaged beer (HTS 2203.00.00, "Beer made from malt") can no longer ship to the US: the US import ban on listed Canadian alcohol took effect September 29, 2026, after a 50% Section 338 duty that applied from August 22, 2026. Brewed in Val-d'Or, Quebec: the Quebec microbrewers' association describes "bière artisanale 100 % faite sur place" at 585, 3e Avenue, and the brewery lists a production plant tasting room ("Salon de dégustation (Usine)") at 201 rue Bombardier, Val-d'Or.
