Natural honey (HTS 0409.00.00) has carried a 50% US duty since August 22, 2026, and about 90% of Podolski's sales went to American customers. General manager Osee Podolsky told CBC the farm is effectively out of business.

Podolski Honey Farms' general manager says the new US tariff has effectively ended the business as it existed, since diverting to the Canadian market means competing with every other exporter doing the same thing.
If the tariffs aren't lifted, I can't afford to sell with this kind of a tariff. I would go bankrupt.
