Romero's rums are Canadian spirits under HTS 2208.40.40, which carried a 50% US duty from August 22, 2026 and, since September 29, 2026, can no longer be imported into the United States at all. The distillery runs a separate US online store and in 2022 had its rum on shelves in Connecticut; that store now reads "We are currently sold out in the US."Source: whitehouse.gov, Sep 29, 2026
