Roustan makes about 400,000 wood hockey sticks a year with 15 people in Brantford and sends roughly 100,000 of them to the United States, where ice hockey sticks (HTS 9506.99.25) have carried a 50% duty since August 22, 2026. The quote is older than that measure: owner Graeme Roustan told Transport Topics in October 2025, under the earlier round of US tariffs, that even a single-stick order gets caught.
Made in Canada
The sticks are cut and finished at a Brantford plant the company moved into in 2022, carrying on the line that ran at Hespeler, Ontario from 1921: "Our sticks are crafted in Brantford, Ontario, with premium materials mainly from Canada and the USA."
