Saltbox's packaged beer (HTS 2203.00.00, "Beer made from malt") and cider (HTS 2206.00.15, "Cider, fermented, whether still or sparkling") can no longer ship to the US: the US import ban on listed Canadian alcohol took effect September 29, 2026, after a 50% Section 338 duty that applied from August 22, 2026. Saltbox co-founder Andrew Tanner, speaking as president of the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, told CBC News on September 13, 2026 that none of the association's 52 members exports to the U.S., and that brewers have looked to New Brunswick, P.E.I. and Newfoundland for sales instead.
You must be of legal drinking age in your province to buy alcohol. Rules on shipping alcohol between provinces vary, so buy from the maker directly or through your provincial liquor store. We only link to makers; nothing is sold on this site.
In their own words
I think the market has certainly been focused on Nova Scotia as a whole. I think some have certainly looked to New Brunswick and P.E.I. and Newfoundland for some sales opportunities there,
