This Lac-Saint-Jean vineyard makes northern wines and, since 2019, micro-distills spirits from its grape pressings: marc brandy (plain, rose petal and wild mint), a raspberry elixir and a boreal gin.
Vignoble Couchepagane's marc brandy, gin and raspberry elixir are Canadian spirits under HTS 2208.20.40, 2208.50.00 and 2208.70.00, which carried a 50% US duty from August 22, 2026 and, since September 29, 2026, can no longer be imported into the United States at all.Source: whitehouse.gov, Sep 29, 2026

The vineyard says it holds its own still permit: « en 2019, nous avons acquis un permis de micro-distillation » (in 2019 we obtained a micro-distillation permit), and its spirits are « fabriqués à partir de la fermentation des résidus de raisins » (made from the fermentation of grape residues).
